Feature in December 2023 issue of "BRAIN"
Brain is a specialist magazine for creatives published by Sendenkaigi.
Its occasional "Book Jacket: Senses" feature is made possible through
collaborations with creators using fine paper.
Each issue of the magazine that features this popular project includes
a book jacket/cover made with a different type of fine paper.
Kizuki Nakano (Shiseido Creative) appears in the December 2023 edition.
The paper she uses is SNOBLE-FS.
Book Jacket: Senses - Vol. 65
The December issue of Brain is now available at bookstores nationwide.
The title of the work is “Sequence.”
This book jacket was inspired by the question of whether it would be possible to fix onto pure white paper the unclear scenes and series of imagery that come to mind when the book is read. An obscure photo and a seemingly meaningless sample phrase were arranged on SNOBLE-FS, a fine paper characterized by luminous whiteness that is very bright, with transparent foil applied over the photo on the left and pearl foil on the right. In addition to the vividly printed colors, the feel of the soft paper, and the contrast between the luster of the two types of foil, the book jacket evokes the unique indistinct images that emerge in the reader’s mind.
