PAPER & TRIAL is a series of exhibitions on paper, design, and experimentation.
The fourth exhibition in the series features FINE FLUTE. FINE FLUTE is a corrugated cardboard
that uses fine paper with a rich range of colors. It consists of a three-layered structure,
with a core of fluted paper sandwiched by liner paper, and provides the functionality of regular packaging material
as well as attractive design through combinations of colors with its three layers.
In addition to FINE FLUTE options manufactured to order with a wide selection of 50 different colors,
FINE FLUTE is also available in stock colors that can be shipped immediately
(using E flute cardboard in nine color combinations).
For this exhibition, product designer Ryohei Yoshiyuki conducts trials based on the theme of “wrapping.
” He creates mirrors using FINE FLUTE with curves rendered through fine slitting, and fixtures that combine
FINE FLUTE with wooden structures. He explores new possibilities for FINE FLUTE from the vantage point of product design.
