Feature in November 2020 issue of "BRAIN"
"Book Jacket: Senses" is a series made possible
through collaborations with creators using fine paper.
Each issue in this popular project includes a book jacket/cover
made with a different type of fine paper.
Sayo Noda appears in the July 2020 issue.
The paper he uses is HAKUMORI-FS.
The November issue of Brain is now available at bookstores nationwide.
* Two versions are available: One using Matte Silver 2B foil and one using Hologram Gold 1SG.
The title of the work is “Yakosei”.
“Yakosei” means “nocturnal.” This book jacket presents completely different images
depending on whether it’s open or closed—the moon in the night sky when the book is closed,
and the eyes of an animal when the book is open.
HAKUMORI-FS paper is designed to control foil corrosion. Taking advantage of those characteristics,
the jacket uses silver or hologram metal foil over a relatively broad area
