Feature in April 2020 issue of "BRAIN"
"Book Jacket: Senses" is a series made possible
through collaborations with creators using fine paper.
Each issue in this popular project includes a book jacket/cover
made with a different type of fine paper.
The April issue of Brain is now available at bookstores nationwide.
Toru Kase appears in the April 2020 issue.
The paper he uses is NT STRIPE GA.
The title of the work is “Hon wo Yomu Hito.”
The figures depicted in “Hon wo Yomu Hito” (The Reader) using fluorescent colors
and black were rendered with multiple layers of overlapping lines with gradations.
Causing a picture to appear by creating an “overlapping” of lines and dots is a method
that Kase has employed before. On the front cover side, the application of transparent
foil over the printed image and the reflection of light, the vibrant printing
and NT STRIPE GA’s embossing produce a finished work that stands out more.
