Feature in August 2017 issue of "BRAIN"
"Book Jacket: Senses" is a bi-monthly series made possible
through collaborations with creators using fine paper.
Each issue in this popular project includes a book jacket/cover
made with a different type of fine paper.
Takahiro Furuya of Werkbund has been chosen for the August 2017 issue.
The paper used is JEAN FELT.
The title of the work is “incomplete paper.”
Gold foil evokes kintsugi, the traditional method of repairing broken or cracked ceramics with gold powder.
To enhance the tactile contrast between the feel of the foil and the warm feel of the paper surface
produced by JEAN FELT’s dyed fibers and laid pattern, the foil is stamped so that it falls just at the edge of
where the cover is folded, ensuring that your fingers come into contact with both textures at once.
