Feature in August 2016 issue of "BRAIN"
"Book Jacket: Senses" is a bi-monthly series made possible
through collaborations with creators using fine paper.
Each issue in this popular project includes a book jacket/cover
made with a different type of fine paper.
Eriko Kawakami (DRAFT) has been chosen for the August 2016 issue.
The paper used is FIRST VINTAGE, which has the color and feel of aged paper.
The title of the work is "2016/2006."
The artist revisited her graphic arts university graduation project
”Typography of Matchbox" from 2006 and by placing the two side by side,
she expresses the changes that have taken place in her own emotions over the intervening decade.

In order to express the passing of time, Kawakami selected
FIRST VINTAGE, which has the feel of well-used paper.
Taking the classic feel and color of this paper as her starting point,
she created a striking contrastwith UV offset printing in fluorescent pink,
and foil stamping in two colors.
