The “TAKEO POSTER COLLECTION Best Selection 09” exhibition features posters advertising
The Fillmore (Fillmore Auditorium/Fillmore West), the live music club that fostered rock culture
on the west coast of the United States from the latter half of the 1960s until the beginning of the 1970s.
From the collection, the show presents a selection of posters
for events organized by talented promoter, Bill Graham (1931-91), during five and a half years,
from 1966 to 1971, covering both the first (1966-1969) and second periods (1970-1971).
The numerous vivid and colorful psychedelic posters, which fuse visual and musical elements,
do a magnificent job of visualizing the image of highly individual rock music.
“TAKEO POSTER COLLECTION Best Selection 09” was previously exhibited
at Tama Art University Museum in January 2014.
