Cultures of Giving
Whether information or feelings, communications or plans and, of course presents,
paper has always been associated with giving. The rituals of wrapping items in the
material or offering things written on it have connected cultures and united people
throughout history. Today, in the digital age, paper’s special qualities as an analogue,
tactile material are even more pronounced. In a world filled with so much technology,
old-fashioned ways of presenting gifts bring us together.
